Continuation of Baby Blog, but Family Style

This past week hasn't had too many events that pop out in my mind.

Silas is 4 weeks today. I can't believe it's been a month already since I had him! It seems like just yesterday! He's so big though, so at the same time it seems like he is much older. He eats almost nonstop. He's such a baby cow! He is starting to recognize when we smile at him, and he smiles back. He only gets up a few times a night for food, and then he just snuggles down and goes back to sleep. Jon took him to his 1 month check up today, so I could sleep in a little bit. No shots, so that was good. Doctor checked out everything we had concerns about, and it all checked out. He is right where he is supposed to be size-wise and he's growing and eating perfectly!

Maddie is getting ready to start school. I was horrible with her and Kira's immunizations after moving to Nampa, which there's no excuse for! Unfortunately, she has a number of shots she needs to get before starting school, but she's so excited about going that she's willing and ready to get them.Jon made them appointments with the same doctor Silas has today, so it will be easy to get them all caught up. I bought her a little booklet for Kindergartners online and she is going through it like it's nothing. She's going to be at the top of her class, this September!

Kira is the typical three year old. She loves picking on her sister, but at the same time, she is super sweet. She drives me bonkers and makes me laugh at the same time. She's been really making sure that Silas knows she loves him. She isn't content until she's kissed him and hugged him and told him she loves him. If he coos at her, it makes her so happy. She had been starting to sing, and she is really good. Maddie tries to sing, but Maddie is a little tone deaf. Kira is dead on. If she's flat or sharp at all, she'll hear it and stop and listen to the song closer, then try again and she'll nail it. It's amazing.

As for us, my grandfather isn't doing too well, so that has me a bit worried. He's one of those guys that never slows down, so for him to be having these troubles, it doesn't bode well. My mother and I are trying to work out a way to get down there in the next few weeks.

Saturday, I stuck Silas into the baby carrier and the girls and I set out to clean up the backyard. Having a bored 7 month old giant puppy doesn't help the state of my yard. We lasted about an hour before the weather got too bad for us to continue. Unfortunately, it didn't even make a dent in the yard. Silas seems to like the baby carrier though, so that's good. It's my first time using one with any of the kids.

Today is the first day that I am avidly working out with Jon as my trainer. He's having me do two days of lifting, three cardio days, and one ab/boxing combination day with Sundays off. It'll definitely be a test to see how much I love him with him pushing me. haha. But I think it will be good. I'm doing the same lifting that he is, just with about 4 times less weight and 4 times as many reps. haha. I have a weight loss blog that I started February 2013, but then had to stop when I became pregnant. So, I will be continuing that and updating it regularly as well. You can follow that if you are interested here. Granted, I haven't updated it yet, but I will after I do my workout today!
