March 11-17

Maddie has been grounded most of this week. She can be such a help, but other times, she is such a pain! I swear she is a teenager already! Her little attitude gets her in more trouble than you'd believe at just being five. It's ridiculous. Of course, I don't know where she got it! haha. Alright, I may have a bit of an idea. ;) She decided to punch Kira in the face twice, get into my make up, bite Kira hard enough to make her bleed, and hide her food so we'd think she ate it all, all in one day! It was crazy how misbehaved she was being! I think it may be that she is feeling that she is not getting enough attention with the baby about. At the same time though, she was helping with Silas quite a bit without even being asked to.

She loves taking care of Silas
Kira has really been working on her singing this week. She hears almost any song and she tries her best to belt it out. It's adorable. She hasn't got in too much trouble this week. She did get into Silas' formula though. She got quite the spanking for that. (Yes, I spank my kids. Stop the presses and start a hate debate over it! *eyeroll* Every parent is different!! Anyway...)

Kira pretending she was an elephant with a sock "trunk."
Monday night, Silas did not want to go to sleep. He had been sleeping all day, which was a little out of the usual, but since he had a doctor's visit that day, we figured it was because of that. But, he woke up about an hour before we went to bed, and did not go to sleep for a long time. I ended up taking him back downstairs so Jon could get some sleep. He took him that morning and let me get extra sleep, so it was only fair. I take care of him at night anyway, but I never leave our room, so when Silas wakes up, I do and so does Jon. Jon ends up going back to sleep once I give Silas the bottle, but he still misses some sleep. He ends up taking Silas in the mornings when he can to make up for me being up every night with him. He pooped through his jammies early Thursday morning. It was lovely dealing with that in the middle of the night, but at the same time, I was happy he pooped because he has some issues doing that.

Mommy and Silas
I took the kids for a walk to the park on Thursday. It was a really nice day. It was Kira's first time without a stroller, so it took some extra time and she was pretty whiny on the way back. After all, it is a 2 mile walk round trip plus play time. They had a lot of fun though. One of the slides was blocked off though, so that kind of bummed them out. On the way out of the park, there is a bit of a hill, so I taught the girls how to roll down. They loved it!  Overall, it was a great day.

Park Fun!

Jon's little brother Alex's birthday was this week. We went over to Jon's mom's house for cake and a bit of a celebration on Sunday. I had a lot of fun, a little too much fun actually! haha. But we gave Alex a Leatherman, which was funny because Jon's other brother got him a knife set and his sister got him a little crossbow, all without collaboration between any of us. The girls had a blast playing over there and everyone loved seeing how big Silas is getting. It was a really nice time.
