Monday, Jon took Silas down so I could sleep in, but the girls and the puppy weren't interested in that. We had a splurge day. We got Panda Express for lunch and we went over to WalMart for one thing. We came out with a cartful. I got a couple outfits for working out, some lifting gloves and boxing gloves. Maddie got sunglasses, a bow and arrow, and an outfit. Kira got sunglasses and a set of four princesses. They also got a Slip N Slide. Jon got a game and stuff to fix up his bike and some beer glasses. We also got a bunch of stuff to fix up the little bed next to our sidewalk. We got home and I started on that project. I finished up and set up the slip n slide for the girls. Maddie went first and started crying about her wrist hurting. I told her basically to walk it off because it was probably just sprained. She'd been complaining about it since she fell on it last Friday. Kira played on the slip n slide for a while before we put it away. Maddie was sitting on the step. Her arm was considerably more swollen than it had been before. We decided that I should probably take her in at least to get her a little brace for it. At the doc in the box, they did some xrays. Turns out she broke it. I felt so bad. Because of my stupid insurance, I had to call her pediatrician to get a referral just to see an orthopedic. But of course, since they were closed for the day, she just got a splint and a sling. We got home and she said sadly, "Now I can't play with my bow and arrow." I took her back to the store and exchanged the bow and arrow for an Elsa toy she could play with one handed. I got her McDonalds for a treat for dinner and let her watch movies in her room until bedtime.

Tuesday, Silas let me sleep until about 9:30am. It was nice, but then I immediately felt guilty the second I remembered Maddie's arm. I got up and got Silas a bottle, then called the Pediatrician. They called me back about an hour later and gave me the name of who they were referring us to. Then I had to wait to hear from that doctor to make an appointment. Insurance fine-lines are such a frustrating thing!
We went shopping again. This time for food and household items. We brought the stuff back to the house and put away the perishables. We then jumped back in the car to go vote in the primary elections. Afterward, Jon dropped me off at WalMart while he got gas. I grabbed the bow and arrow for Maddie that she wanted so bad, so I could stash it away until her wrist healed. We came home for a bit, then decided to go to dinner at Chapalas. After we got home, I had to go back to WalMart again to get Jon some ingrown toenail medicine. My day was finally done! A glass of wine later, and I was ready for bed!

Thursday morning Maddie had her appointment with the orthopedic. She didn't get a cast because it was already healing, so she got a brace. She has to keep it on at all times, except the bath of course, and just go back for some xrays next week. We went to IHOP for breakfast. It was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. They didn't even acknowledge us in the foyer or seat us for almost five minutes, and there was hardly anyone there! The waitress spilled coffee all over Jon's menu and right in front of him. The food took almost 45 minutes to get, and the waitresses and waiters were all really snatchy and complaining really loudly. Ours wasn't attentive AT ALL. I couldn't believe it. The only time she was sweet was when she gave us the bill. Yeah, I bet you wanted a tip. So, needless to say, we won't be back there!
Jon had to work at 2 pm, but since his bike is in perfect condition again, he just takes that. The kids and I went to WalMart, Avenue Thrift Shop and the dollar store. We're becoming frequent shoppers at WalMart, even though we hate the place. Jon wanted a waffle maker, so I got one for him. I got him a coffee from Starbucks and took it to him at work. We went to the thrift store and I found a jogging stroller. I was so excited! I've been looking for one for SO long! I found some running shoes online for 58% online after I got home. I am set with the new clothes I got earlier. I'm excited! I re-start my police training again on Monday.

Friday I got up early with Silas as usual. I made waffles for the girls on the new waffle maker. Jon came down and made one for himself and a plate of bacon. I have trouble eating breakfast early, so I had a piece of bacon and a couple cups of coffee. The girls and I cleaned the house, then all the kids went down for a nap. I was going to try to catch a few winks too, but I got a phone call. We had a relaxing spaghetti dinner and went to bed.
Saturday I made blueberry muffins for breakfast and Jon worked out before he had to go to work. I tried out my jogging stroller and took a jog down the street and back with Kira in it. She's a little too big for it, but it worked as a test for Silas. Silas kept trying to stand up. It's weird because he's just started rolling over. He can't even sit up on his own, but he tries to stand. He does it pretty well too!

I was really craving cucumbers for some reason. I can eat a bunch of them with some salt and pepper, and even more if you throw some ranch into the mix. haha. but I didn't want to drag all the kids to the store just for a cucumber, so I made a couple corn cobs for our lunch. The girls got a couple of gift cards to Dairy Queen from Jon's dad and step-mom. I took them over there so they could get some ice cream after lunch.
Sunday was the start of our weekend. Jon doesn't have Saturdays off, so Sundays became our Saturdays. We made some breakfast and Jon did the yard work while I washed the car. we found a snake in the yard. I didn't want it to get ran over by the lawn mower, so we caught it and took it to the canal area behind our house. Not the biggest fan of snakes, but a tiny garter snake doesn't intimidate me. We had a really fun day with the girls playing in the yard on the slip n slide. We ended the day with Hercules and a dinner of smoked pork roast, baked beans and corn on the cob.
