May 5-11

Monday was Cinco De Mayo. That meant no day off, but instead an early day for Jon. With 59 cent tacos at his work, it was a busy day! It was also one of our paydays. I woke up feeling like crap again. I'm so over being sick. I don't think I've ever been sick this often in my life. The house was trashed and there were piles of laundry that needed to be done, but there was no way I could do it. Well, I probably could have if I really wanted to, but I just wasn't going to. My mother always used to say she had 3 dishwashers in the house, but only one worked. It took me a while to understand what she meant. Now, I get it. I also have 4 dishwashers, 4 washing machines, 4 driers, etc. Yet, strangely, only one of them makes the housework disappear. haha. I ended up thinking I could run errands with Jon, against my better judgement. We ran over to Winco, then Shopko, got gas, and of course, Starbucks! Since it was Cinco, we got a case of Coronas. I didn't feel like drinking, but since my insides were killing me, I figured a little alcohol might help dull the pain. I ended up having just one. I still wasn't feeling it. About an hour after we got home, I was miserable. Definitely should have just stayed home instead of running those errands!

Tuesday I was still sick, and Silas woke up sick too. I really hate the house being messy, so I attempted to do some work on it. After just one load of dishes, I gave up. I did end up being able to clear out some storage from Silas' closet. I ended up putting a few items on Craigslist for free. People are vultures on there! I can't believe the rude emails I get from people just asking if I still have it. Nice way to start a conversation, not! Jeez! So much for doing something nice for others! The kids let me take a shower, which was nice. About an hour later, my ear started hurting. By two hours, I knew it was an ear infection. It is an unmistakable feeling of pain. Who gets those as adults?! Just my luck. Silas decided to poop ALL up his back. I had to give him a bath because I just couldn't get it off with wipes. Jon was nice though and brought me stuff to make Orange Julius again when he got home from work. He also cooked dinner, which was a nice change. Right after dinner, my right ear started bothering me. Great, double ear infection! Jon had me soak both ears in peroxide for 10 minutes each.

Wednesday I woke up about 7:30am, after getting roughly 3 hours of sleep. I could not sleep with that damn pain in my ears. Kira got up about an hour later. Her eyes were glassy and she was sniveling. Any parent that sees that knows in an instant that means sick. Just like that, 3/5 of us were sick. I hate taking narcotics when it's just me at home with the kids, but I didn't have a choice that day, nothing else was helping, especially woth two sickies crying and whining. It just killed my ears. I took a Norco I had leftover from my tubal ligation, and heated up some salt in a towel in hopes to draw out some of the junk in my ear. The Norco made me so tired, on top of the lack of sleep, but I fought it. It worked in alleviating the pain pretty well.  I also heated up some salt and put it in a sock. It pulled a lot of the pressure out with a little bit of fluid too. I was hoping that my eardrum didn't rupture, but it was hard to tell. Kira had a really high fever. I gave her some Tylenol and put some cool clothes on her. I also put Vape-o-Rub on her chest and her feet. I hate seeing the kids sick. Maddie is always such a trooper though. She takes such good care of us. She hardly ever gets sick. She has a super immune system or something. lol. Without being asked, she put the clean dishes from the dishwasher away, then did an additional load. She also made Kira and herself peanut butter sandwiches for lunch, again without being asked. She made Silas a bottle when he was starting to get fussy, and brought out pillows and blankets for all of us. She's amazing.

Thursday the girls had their doctor appointment. Maddie got 3 Kindergarten shots. Kira had to get 6, but since she was sick the day before, they didn't want to give them to her. We scheduled another appointment for her shots the next Monday. Since they were so good at the doctor, we got them a hot chocolate. I had a couple of issues with the doctor. He said that Maddie's BMI is in the 85th percentile and that she is overweight according to it. How is my tiny little girl overweight?! Whatever. Anyway then we ran to WalMart for some Children's Tylenol in case Maddie felt bad from the shots, and so Kira could take a little bit of that instead of a whole lot of Silas'. Jon fixed some stuff on his motorcycle before he left for work. He also made an agreement with me that if we (I) don't use anymore credit, (I'm the worst at using credit!) I can have the full tax refund next year for a car. I am so excited! I've been begging him for a new (to us) car for a year and a half, and now I can get one in 9 months!!

Friday, I woke up completely miserable again. Both my ears were swollen and aching again and my throat was very red and all my glands and nodes were swollen. Jon said that I'm not better by Monday, I have to go in. I hate going to the doctor so I try to fight it as long as I can. I don't have health insurance and even with all the President/nation/states are "trying" to do, there is still nothing I can afford, so doctor visits are out for me usually. It was Jon's long day, so I asked my mom if there was any way she could come out for a bit. She did and stayed almost the entire time Jon was at work! It was such a nice break. I got a few hours of sleep, and she even cleaned my kitchen. Our relationship isn't the greatest to date, but it was a nice change. Jon came home and cooked dinner and we watched Supernatural and Blacklist.

Saturday was the start of Jon's three day weekend. Silas woke up at 7am like usual, but Jon got up with him and let me get some rest. I got up at 10am and felt quite an improvement from the day before. Jon was playing AC4 when I came down, but he made coffee, so I was happy. He took his motorcycle to his friend's house who has an engine lift so they could take the wheels off the bike so he could replace the tires. He didn't have any tread left, so it was really crucial that he swapped them out. After he got back, he debated doing the yard, but decided to wait until the next day. He helped me make chicken parmesan sandwiches and we watched a movie called This Awkward Moment. 75% through it, I really wanted a Blizzard, but I didn't want to pay for it. So instead, Jon went to the store and got the stuff to make our own. Cheaper, and you get enough for more than one!

Sunday Silas woke up about 6:30am. I fed him a bottle in bed in hopes he'd fall back asleep, but it was a doomed idea. I brought him down so Jon could sleep in. Kira woke up about 10 minutes later. I made some coffee for me and some oatmeal for her. It's funny how kids remind you of situations from when you were a kid. She asked for oatmeal that tastes like a cookie, and I responded that I'd make it taste like an oatmeal cookie. I swear my mom and I had that very exchange of words when I was little, more than once too! Jon got up about 8:30am. He went out to get us coffee from Starbucks. He came back and handed it to me. Then he went out in the garage and came back in with roses, a card and a gift. He was kind of mad at himself because he didn't wrap it, but I didn't care. He also cleaned up the kitchen and let me lounge around. I felt a little guilty though, because I've been sick all week, so all I've really been doing is lounging around. We got Papa Murphy's pizza for lunch. I love that pizza! There, Flying Pie (Samoan), Old Chicago (Thai Pie), and Toll Station in McCall (sweet n sour chicken pizza!). BOMB pizzas!! Anyway, we hung out for the rest of the night and then ended it by watching Once Upon a Time, and ate Filet Mignons.

Just hanging out together picking out their favorite foods
