July 7-13

Monday, Silas didn't sleep very good. He woke up a few times in the night. When he woke up in the morning about 7 am, I made him a bottle then snoozed while he ate. He ended up falling back asleep a bit after he finished it. So we got to sleep until 9. It was a treat! I did wake up with bit of a sore throat, but I wasn't sure if that was from breathing funny while I was sleeping or if I was sick. I had an appointment to go to that I kept forgetting about. I set a few alarms so I would remember to go. After the kids and I got home, I did some dishes and that was about it. Nothing too spectacular happened that day. Jon got home (he worked that day, so he could take Kira's birthday off) and threw a chicken on the smoker. I made some sauteed carrots, zucchini, onions and mushrooms, and we did a joint effort on mashed potatoes.

Tuesday, Jon usually opens, but he had a weird schedule because of one of his coworkers going camping. So I got him until 2 pm. After he left, I just did research mostly the rest of the day. It was pretty uneventful.

Wednesday, Jon took Silas so I could sleep for a bit. I got up about 10 am. It is funny how no matter if I get up at 6 am or 10 am, I am still exhausted. I don't ever think I will catch up again. Jon worked at 2 pm again, so he played video games up until he left. I cleaned up the house to get it ready for Kira's birthday the following day. I made spaghetti for dinner. I took a shower, Kira took a bath, and Maddie took a shower after that. I watched a documentary, and put Kira down for bed. Maddie finished her shower and we decorated the house for Kira's birthday. We put up a banner, blew up balloons, put a curtain of balloons on her doorway, and brought out her presents. Jon came home and we went to bed.

Thursday was Kira's birthday! Yay! My baby girl is 4!!! Silas got up at about 8. Kira was already awake, but waiting patiently in her room for all of us to wake up. She heard me and came out saying "Mommy, it's my birthday!" and jumped into my arms. She went upstairs to get her Daddy up and then came back down to wake Maddie up. She opened presents then ate some breakfast. She dressed up in her new dress and we got ready to go bowling. We let them play a couple of games and then we left. We went to Jabbers and got a day pass. They played for a few hours, then we got some lunch over at Jimmy Johns. We went back to Jabbers and they played some more. We finally left there and we came home to regroup. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Kira was one of the birthday girls there. There was a table of older girls, probably in their 20's, right next to us and there was one with a birthday too. They were bummed because Texas stopped giving out birthday tiaras a while ago. But Kira had one on that we brought from home. Kira ate, and she got to go on the saddle and swing the napkin around. She loved it! She ate her birthday ice cream. Right when we were ready to go, I asked Kira if she thought it would be nice to give the girl at the next table her tiara because she had more at home. She said yes and handed it to her and told her Happy Birthday. I was so proud! We came home and did her cake. She ate a little but was really full. She laid down to watch a movie on the couch and fell asleep. A good birthday for a good girl!

Friday Silas let us sleep until about 9am. I think we were all tired from the day before! Jon had to work at 11, and there was a 25¢ sale at a kids' clothes store at 10, so the kids and I said bye to Jon and headed out there. We got about 35 things for about $9. I could have stayed longer and got more stuff, but it was just too hot! I grabbed a coffee for Jon and me and took it to him. We stayed for lunch. When we came home, we cleaned up a little and Maddie sat down to to some more practice homework. We've had her doing a Kindergarten workbook for the past year now, little by little, to prep her for school.

I washed all the clothes we got, and had the girls try them on. The 25¢ sale is great because it is so cheap, but then again, it's kind of a hassle because the clothes are not organized at all, so I got a few shirts for Maddie that said small, but turned out to be juniors small. Oh well! Jon came home, and we made some pork loins for dinner. Silas ate some rice cereal, but fell asleep before I could give him his potatoes.

Saturday, Jon had to open. Silas woke up at 7ish, and I tried to get him to go back to sleep, but he wasn't interested in it. Then, once we came down stairs, he fell back asleep. Little butthead. I think he just didn't want me to sleep. haha. I was ready for a lazy day because we had no plans, so I watched a couple more documentaries and lounged around as much as the kids would let me. Jon came home and told me that he wanted us to go to his co-worker's graduation or birthday party (he wasn't sure which). So, he worked out and I took a shower. We went over and there were a lot of people there, none of which we knew. It was a little weird being the only white people there. haha. But we did get authentic Mexican food and margaritas! haha. We came home and pretty much just pt the kids to bed and went to sleep.

Sunday, we got up early. I had to clean up the house a bit, again! It takes about 2 seconds for the kids to mess up a clean house. Ugh. Jon's mom and his brother came over to celebrate Kira's birthday. Maddie and I ran to a few stores, and Jon did the outside work. He was making some food and we had a really big scare. Kira knocked over the really heavy glass table. Silas was on top of it and Maddie next to it, so Silas hit his head really hard and Maddie got her stomach pretty bad when it pinned her under. But, they were ok. Jon's mom and his siblings came over for Kira's little party thing. It was nice. We ended up swapping kids with his mom that night, so she took Maddie and Kira and we kept Jon's little brother and sister overnight. Silas went to sleep early, so we got to hang out a bit with the kids. It was really fun.
