June 30 - July 6

Monday Silas woke up bright and early again. We were out of coffee, which really bummed me out. I was a very grouchy old lay that morning. Jon wanted waffles for breakfast, but made scrambled eggs for me. We went back out to Jump Creek to explore some more. We hiked all around the top of it. The kids were getting tired, so we came all the way back down and then went on the little hike to the waterfall. The girls played in the water. Jon and I convinced each other to swim out to the waterfall. It was SO cold! We were pretty exhausted after that, but still managed to run over to the store for some veggies. We had chicken with veggies for dinner.

Tuesday was a long day it seemed. Jon worked early in the morning due to inventory. Silas and I came downstairs and I cleaned like crazy. It seemed like everything was messy! I made Maddie a little picture for the front of her binder for school and washed her backpack. I folded Silas' clothes and cleaned some more. Jon got home and we went shopping. By the time we got home and put everything away, we were so tired. We skipped our workout and I just made some pasta for dinner instead.

Wednesday was one HOT day! It got up to 100°! I spent most of the morning shutting all the windows in the house and creating blinds for the windows that didn't have them. Jon and I had been researching homemade air conditioners to cut down on our house one too. He had to work, and he was feeling ill, so I took over and tried to figure out which one to make. Maddie's backpack was dry, but it had a whole in the bottom, so I had to sew it back up so all her stuf didn't fall out. Jon got home, and I ran over to the store real quick. After we got home, I fed Silas his first real food. He loved the sweet potatoes. We made tacos for dinner for the rest of us.

Thursday morning, Silas didn't want me to sleep. I ended up just taking him downstairs. Jon came down a few hours later. We ate breakfast, then he went out to workout. I took the girls to pick out some nice, quiet and safe(r) fireworks. We came back, and Jon left for work. I did some laundry made some food for the girls. It was a pretty unexciting day.

Friday was the 4th of July. Jon had to work that day, but he chose to open so he wouldn't have to miss the fun at night. About 11, I took the girls out to so some safe(r), fun fireworks. We did smoke balls and pop its, and those little party poppers. I'm not too familiar with fireworks, so I grabbed a pack of what I thought were smoke balls out of the bag. They were not. They turned out to be crackling balls. We were all surprised when we got sparks and popping instead of smoke. It was pretty funny looking back on it. We came inside an I painted the girls' nails and their faces and they got into their new outfits. Jon got home, and we all saddled up to go to Boise. We went over to Jon's mom's house. We stopped and got some more safe(r) fireworks on the way. It was really fun over there. The kids had a blast, and so did the adults!  We did a bunch of fireworks when it got dark. I burnt my thumb on a sparkler though. Those things are HOT!

Saturday I did not want to wake up, but Silas didn't let me sleep in. When Jon got up a few hours later, we went to the bank and then over to Big Lots. That store is amazing! Jon's mom was telling us that she got some stuff over there and we went to check it out. I think I'm in love with a new store! haha. We got Maddie a bunch of supplies for school too! We came home and Jon fiddled with the car. Our air conditioner hasn't been working so he thought it was the Freon being out. I guess it's something else though because it's still not working yet. He went to work a little later. Nothing crazy happened after that.

Sunday, I really wanted to sleep in, but Jon wasn't about to get up, so I did. Silas was happy, but I wasn't that morning. Jon got up a few hours later. I went to the store with Maddie and got a few things for Kira's birthday on Thursday. We went to another store and ordered her cake. I came home and Jon was about to do the yard work. While he did that, the girls played and Silas sat by me. I made a wreath for the door for Kira's birthday. It turned out cute! Jon worked out after, then we came inside. I made dinner and we watched Noah. That was about it. Sorry for the lack of photos. This week has been exhausting!
