Monday, Jon had to work. He was miserable from the after effects of the bbq we had with his friends the night before. He usually has Mondays off, but he didn't that day because he took of the next Saturday for the Boise Music Festival. He was pretty hungover. But the guys we had over had to work that day too, so they were all miserable together. haha. The kids and I played and when Jon got home, we went to the year round fireworks store and got some fireworks for the 4th. We got home and I marinated some chicken for dinner. My friend Sasha stopped by and dropped off some clothes and toys for Silas and the girls. Thanks again, Sasha! Maddie and I skewered the chicken and the veggies for shish kabobs (until Maddie stabbed herself with one), and Jon grilled them. We finished up the night with some Hannibal Rising.
Tuesday Jon was off to work again. The house was really messy, so I mostly just cleaned. Kira was feeling sick again. I swear that girl is always sick! At least it was just a runny nose and sinus this time and not her stomach. Jon got home late from work. He gave me a warning text, because I get really worried if he's too late. Especially when he rides his motorcycle. I'll even start checking the news sites and stuff. I know, it's sad. haha. But when he got home, he smoked a roast we bought at the farmer's market. It was amazing. I definitely see why feeding the cows right is the way to go!
Wednesday Kira was still sick. Silas and Maddie had runny noses, so I'm betting they will be sick soon. I came downstairs and Maddie said she was getting a bag for Kira's tissues. Then she brings out everything she can carry for Kira and lays her down on the couch. Sometimes, she can be an awesome sister. I cleaned house (like every other day) and took care of Kira. Around 2 pm, Maddie started feeling bad down. By 6, she was full blown sick. I felt bad. I made some Hawaiian chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies for dinner. I offered the girls soup, but they chose to have dinner instead. I was impressed. Kira and Silas fell asleep on the couch and Maddie stayed up, whining. She finally went to bed about 9 pm. Jon and I caught up on some Beauty and the Beast.
Thursday, Kira was feeling better but Maddie wasn't. It's so rare for Maddie to get sick. Usually, she's the one who is taking care of all of us who are sick! I made boiled some beans for home homemade refried beans, and made stir fry for Kira and I for lunch. The beans were done boiling at that point, so I spent about 2 hours making all sorts of refried beans. I made some with cheese, some with bacon, some plain, some with bacon AND cheese....I went a little crazy with it. haha. Neither the girls or I were hungry for dinner. We just snacked on some leftover mashed potatoes. Jon got home from work around 10:30 pm. By that time, all three kids were in bed. I always stay up to wait for him. I would hate coming home to a sleeping house, so I stay up, no matter how tired I am, usually. If I'm sick though, no promises! haha
Friday Jon had his long day. Kira was pretty much 100% again. Maddie woke up better too! Yay!! I had to go to Old Navy. They were having their $1 flip flop sale on Saturday, but cardholders got first pick on Friday, so I totally went! Plus I needed some shorts. So I dropped Jon off at work, and headed over. I got Silas a couple hats, Maddie a shirt, and Kira some flip flops too! We came home super hungry. I slapped together some makeshift chili with the cooked beans that just got done on the stove. The girls loved it and devoured it while Silas took a nap. We made a bunch of different kinds of paper airplanes and tested them. Jon got off a bit earlier, so we went and picked him up. We made some bbq chicken with the local bbq sauce we got. Oh my gosh, it is AMAZING! That sauce...I've never tasted a bbq sauce better! I'm SO happy we found it!

Silas' adorable hats! |
Saturday was the Boise Music Festival. Jon let me sleep in for a bit. Silas was really acting up the night before, so I had to deal with him most of the night. Jon took him early and I slept until 9:45 am. I took a shower right when I got up to save time. We headed out and dropped the kids off. We had to go to WalMart for some oil before heading down there. So we got there about 1:30 pm. I saw a few people and said hi. We wandered around and listened to the various bands. We met up with Jon's mom and hung out with her the remainder of the day. We were too tired to stay to see Train, so we headed back and picked up the girls. We made hamburgers and exhaustively made our way to bed.

Even the unburnable got burned! |
Sunday Silas woke up at 5am and did not want to go back to sleep. So, I took him downstairs for two hours and he played. I finally got him back to sleep, but only until about 9. Jon got up around then. He ran over to the store for some breakfast stuff and made it. He's great that way. He did the yard and the girls and I did some garden work.

The girls' beans |
I wasn't feeling up to par, so Jon worked out, while I watched and played with Silas. I made him some salt dough and did a handprint for him. We have two with the girls' handprints, so I thought it was time for him to have one too. We cleaned up the house a bit and Jon shampooed the dining room floor. The kids spilled something sticky in there so we had to shampoo it. We made more of that amazing barbecued chicken for dinner and called it a night/week!
