March 25-31

Maddie decided she is too big for baths now. She insists on showering instead. The other day, we went to dinner and when I got out of the shower, I just left the water on and she jumped in. Then when she got out, she was copying everything I was doing. She combed through her hair and grabbed the hair dryer and started drying her hair. It was like watching a mini me.

Kira is either going to be a model or a fashion designer when she grows up, I swear. She meticulously picks out her clothes she plans to wear and they have to match. If they don't, she won't wear them. It's almost OCD with her. I threw some jammies at her to put on one night because I didn't want to wait for her to pick them out, and she started bawling because they didn't match right. It was annoying and cute all at the same time.

Silas has started mimicking us. We smile and say hi to him, and he opens his mouth and kind of makes a "h" sound. It's adorable. I'm still looking for a swing for him. I got one from Craigslist for $10, but when I got home, I realized it was broken and then the lady I got it from wouldn't answer. I was super bummed out. Jon tried to make a temporary fix for it, but it's just not holding up. :(

Monday we went to Tucanos to finally celebrate my birthday. It's over a month later, but after just having Silas, it was just easier to wait. Maddie loves that place. She and Kira call it the feather restaurant because of the decor. Kira wasn't too interested in the meats, so Jon just got her a big plate from the salad festival. Maddie ate a big plate of it too, but then she devoured the meats too! It was sooooo good! Our waitress was annoying, but other than that, it was amazing! Silas slept through the entire thing too!

Jon got a cold by Wednesday, so I made sure the house was immaculate for when he got home. Nothing annoys me more than being sick in a gross house, so I wanted to make him as comfortable as possible. His appetite was still ravenous as usual, so I didn't skimp on his dinner. I have pretty famous chicken, well famous in my family anyway, and it always seems to make him and everyone else feel better. I slept on the couch that night, so he could get a good night's sleep and also to kind of quarantine him to keep Silas away from the sickness.

By Saturday, my quarantine had failed and I was sick. I was so mad! Jon set up the humidifier for me and even put 4 pots of boiling water on the stove for me. Unfortunately, he still had to work so he couldn't baby me. lol. I just made a chicken casserole so it would be easy for dinner.

Luckily, by Sunday, I had improved so much! My friend, Sam, was visiting from out of state so we went to a dinner with them. It was really nice! We got to meet each other's kids and men and it was such a nice time. After dinner, Jon and I looked up old songs from way back in the day. It was fun.
