Monday is usually Jon's day off, but he had to work this one. I hate it when he doesn't get his full weekend off! But, it was his choice, so I can't feel too bad. Since the girls were at my parents the night before and Jon had to work early, Silas and I woke up to an empty house. It was different, that's for sure. It was so quiet! During Silas' nap, I was able to do the dishes, laundry and clean the upstairs toilet. That's about 2½ more things than I would normally be able to do! I also got to eat my apple in peace without someone asking me if they could have a bite of it, then eating half of it. It wasn't that I didn't miss the girls, but having a break for the first time in a long time was nice! Toward around 2:30 pm I started to get bored though. Silas was down for another nap and I had cleaned everything I could. There were no girls to play with so I went through my recipe book. I had close to 500 recipes, and some of them I just don't ever use. So, out with the old, in with the new! Jon came home and we worked out. My parents brought the girls back and we ate dinner. Kira was feeling under the weather, so we just gave her soup for dinner. We had stuffed, breaded then browned chicken with twice baked potatoes and corn on the cob.
Tuesday morning, I had a screening for an interview at Brown Bus Company. I really wanted the job! But, my baby sitter didn't show up, and because it was a screening, I missed the chance. I wasn't in a very good place after that. I cleaned the house and detailed my bathroom instead. I fed Silas his very first solid cereal meal. It was very messy. haha
We didn't do much else. Jon got home and we made tacos for dinner then watched one of the basketball game finals.

Wednesday Maddie had another orthopedic appointment for her wrist. She finally got to take her brace off! She does have to wear it for 2 more weeks when she does rough activities like riding her bike, jumping on a trampoline, etc. But other than that, she is free!! I gave her the bow and arrow I hid. She was so excited.
Jon and I got a coffee after he got home from work, then we worked out real quick. Kira and I chased down the ice cream truck during the middle of our orkout. We made tilapia with pilaf and asparagus for dinner and watched some Hannibal.
Thursday was our 5 year anniversary. Jon had an appointment at 10 that he couldn't miss, but I didn't mind. It gave me time to set up a little present spot for him. He brought back some coffee for us so I was happy. He also surprised me with roses. He's really great with things like that.
We all went up to Tablerock and hiked around a bit. Our tradition has always been having champagne on our anniversary. Jon brought the champagne and some glasses and we hung out in the cave a little bit, drinking it and letting the girls play. After Tablerock, we got some more Starbucks, then headed down to Ann Morrison. We played in the fountain and in the river. We were pretty burnt out after that, so we headed back home to make some dinner. I had to go to the store to get some stuff, and on a whim decided to make a 7-layer dip for an appetizer. We made balsamic glazed steak and some veggies for dinner with a razzleberry pie for dessert. It was a great 5th anniversary.

Jon, sadly, had to go back to work on Friday. It was his long day. I was pretty bummed, especially after the fun we had the day before, but it had to be done.
Sunday was Father's Day. I'd like to say I got up extra early to do make breakfast and coffee, but I was up early anyway with Silas. I made Jon a breakfast pull-apart. It was pretty cool looking and tasty too! Kira went upstairs to wake Jon up with a "Happy Father's Day." He was already awake though and came downstairs. We ate breakfast and got him his presents. Kira made him open all of hers first. Now, my husband is a man's man. He doesn't show emotion...like ever! It is not very often that he is moved enough to come to tears. This was not the case that day. He opened her last gift (a DAD frame with a pic of him and her) and he had tears in his eyes and a few escaped down his cheeks. It was amazing. Maddie's was next, then mine. Then he opened the Daddy collage we made him. It was a great morning!
